Welcome Back

    Fiona sat on the porch staring out at the rain.
She sighed as she rested her chin in her hand.
Scourge had been gone for quite some time. He had called off to the military.
Fiona twisted her ring around her finger. She thought about him all the time.
The young life growing in her stomach kicked a little.
She smiled and placed her hand on her belly.
Their baby was always active and she couldn't wait to meet him.
Scourge didn't know since he had already departed when she found out.

    After a while she got up and went in the house.
She still had chores to do.

    It was quite lonely in the house without Scourge around, they used to do everything together.
She'd had some visitors but it wasn't the same.

    Fiona straitened up, vacuumed, and washed the dishes.
While she washed  them the phone rang.
"Hello."
"Hi!" Amy's voice chirped.
"Hello Amy."
"How's Scourge Jr. doing?" She giggled.
"I've already told you Amy, I'm not going to name him that."
"If you say so."
They talked for a while, then Fiona hung up.
She dried her hands off and went out to check the mail.

    By now it had stopped raining.
She walked down to the mailbox and got the mail. Then she headed back to the house.
Just as she reached the door she heard someone.
"Hey Fi."
She knew that voice anywhere. Slowly, she turned around.
Scourge was standing on the sidewalk smiling at her.
"Scourge." She whispered and hurried to him.
He wrapped his arms around her and she buried her face in his chest. Tears leaked down their faces.  
"Welcome back Scourge." Fiona said in his ear.
